THE SPORTSMEN MISSION

Born in Brooklyn, New York — half Georgian, half Venezuelan — Lasha built his game at Kutztown University, competing in the toughest D1 rugby conference in the country in 15s and reaching the podium at 7s nationals three times, placing 2nd once and 3rd twice. As the team’s primary goal-kicker, he led Kutztown in points off the tee in each of his final two 15s seasons.

Before committing to Kutztown, he trained with a professional club in New York (Rugby New York) that went on to win the 2022 Major League Rugby Championship.

Today he plays club rugby with the Austin Huns, competing among the best men’s premier teams in the nation, and will return for his second consecutive appearance at RugbyTown 2026 with Gorilla Rugby. Widely regarded as one of the premier sevens events in the United States, RugbyTown 7s draws elite touring sides from around the world and serves as a proving ground for national-team talent, with USA Eagles and Falcons squads using it to scout and develop players heading toward the Olympic sevens pipeline.

To compete on that stage is to line up against some of the best sevens players on the planet. He first earned his place there in 2025, heading into his senior year — a stage where collegiate players are a rare sight.

The Synapex athlete continues to push the pace on his mission to greatness.

As head of communications for Kutztown Rugby, Lasha connected with Synapex to bring the partnership to his team — we supplied the sportsmen with Synapex performance gear for their season.

He also helped spark the connection between Synapex and Gorilla Rugby, introducing our founders to the club ahead of their run at RugbyTown 2026.
